Based off it's name, this stone was found in Labrador, Canada in 1770. It is a Feldspar mineral which is the most abundant group of minerals that can be found in the earth's crust.  According to Innit Legends due to the beautiful iridescent colours that showcase in these stones, it is believed that the northern lights shone down on the shores of Labrador and were captured inside these stones.

Labradorite normally showcases a blue or blue green colouring but it can come in a lavender blue or even a yellow colour.

Most of these gems have iridescent blue flashes that showcase all different shades of blue making this stone truly unique.
