World Wildlife Day 2023

 What it means and how to participate

 

Taking place this year on March 3^rd, World Wildlife Day is a day for celebrating all of the world’s wild plants and animals and the contributions they make to our lives and the well-being of the planet.

 

This year’s theme is Partnership. While this may mean different things to different people, that’s essentially the point! They aim to gain partnerships in the local, regional, national and international levels so that they can identify areas where work needs to be done at all levels in order to safeguard the future of species currently threatened with extinction and to secure a healthier planet for all as well as honouring those who are making a difference all over the world.

 

 

How to participate this year:

• Donate or volunteer with a local or global conservation project

• Explore national parks, botanical gardens, aquariums etc.

• Learn and teach others about our world's plants and wild animals

National Geographic + Lokai

To help raise awareness of wildlife, we have included in our collections the Lokai National Geographic range. This collection was inspired by the wildlife photography of the National Geographic Photo Ark — a multiyear effort that aims to photograph every species living in the world’s zoos and wildlife sanctuaries, inspire action through education, and help protect wildlife by supporting on-the-ground conservation projects.
